| Dean Sizzles -- Smokes Bayou Rats for 5 Hits Friday, August 5th, 2033 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for John Dean today -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at The Rats' Nest, but the performance lost a little luster when the Pilots were downed 11-10 by the Houston Bayou Rats.
After his glittering performance, the Seattle right fielder told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat."
His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book.
"I just wish we had added a win in the record book today, too," Dean said.
John Dean singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off José Ontiveros in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Sifaks Bashiri in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
In the current season, Dean has put up a .359 batting average with 148 hits, 29 home runs, 118 RBI and scored 77 runs.
