It was a glorious moment for Spiders fans today as Cleveland claimed the 2033 Federal Series title with a 11-6 victory at Sockalexis Stadium.

Jubilant Cleveland players swamped each other on the diamond after completing a dominant sweep of the St. Louis Perfectos, as chants of "Thank you, Spiders" reverberated all around the ballpark.

In the losing dugout, sadness reigned. Perfectos skipper Mark Gunn told reporters it was "hard to describe" the feeling of losing in the Federal Series.

"Your heart is heavy, you are hurting -- it's a very difficult time," he said. "And to be swept is embarrassing. You just want to forget it ever happened."

For the Cleveland Spiders, it was a season to remember. They finished the regular season with a record of 85-77, good enough for second place in the Division 1. Then they topped it off by winning the Federal Series 4-0.
