| Boston Trades Charite for Chicago's Ledezma Thursday, December 1st, 2033 Both sides appear content with the trade finalized today that will send 32-year-old RHP Barry Charite and 24-year-old minor league CF Alfonso De Jesús to the Chicago Whales, while the Boston Beaneaters will receive 30-year-old 3B Fernando Ledezma.
"This is a move that filled a few gaps in our roster," said Federico Sansovino, Beaneaters general manager.
For his part, the Whales GM said the trade was made "in the best interest of our organization's future." BNN analysts reported that on paper the trade seemed to be a plus for both ball clubs.
Boston will retain a portion of Charite's remaining contract.
To date Charite's career stats show a 78-91 record with 8 saves and an ERA of 5.07. He has fanned 975 opposing hitters and held them to a .296 average.
Lifetime Ledezma is batting .284 with 42 doubles, 4 triples, 76 home runs and 256 RBIs in 628 games. | |
