 | Jacoby Tosses Shutout Sunday, June 12th, 2033 It wasn't easy but the Des Peres Brainiacs made it look that way. Starter Karl Jacoby shut out the Reno Sharps despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Des Peres Brainiacs cruised to victory, 7-0. Jacoby allowed only 9 hits and rang up 4 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." In the current season in 13 starts, Karl Jacoby has a record of 5-2 with 51 strikeouts in 83 innings and a 3.47 ERA. |   |
