Hollywood pitcher Blair Johnson put on a show today and walked away with a 17-0 shutout victory over the Seattle Pilots, throttling them on 3 hits. He just cruised through their lineup, fanning 11 and walking 0 in a strong outing.
"He was very efficient and he hit his spots," his manager said. "He stayed down in the zone and stayed away from the middle of the plate."
In 17 starts this season Johnson has registered a 10-3 record and a 2.89 ERA.

Stars star third baseman Luis Bannon may be sitting it out a few days after he picked up an injury in yesterday's game against the Rochester Redbirds. He sustained a bruised cheekbone while being hit by a pitch. Bannon isn't expected to miss a lot of time. However, doctors want to be cautious. They said he would be day-to-day for about one week.
So far this year in 76 games Bannon is hitting .271 with 10 home runs, 44 RBIs and 37 runs scored.

In June, the best pitcher in the Robinson League was a reliever, thanks to some impressive stats Evelio Casillas put up coming out of the bullpen.
The Hollywood bullpen ace stood out with 8 saves in 9 relief appearances, a 1-0 won-lost mark and 1.04 ERA. He worked 8.2 innings, allowed 10 hits, struck out 6 and walked 1.
