| Breaking News | | Saturday, July 8th, 2017: Hit Parade, Horace Gets Cycle Philadelphia's Jamison Horace accomplished what few others have been able to do -- he hit for the cycle.
In baseball, a player hits for the cycle when he hits a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game, though not necessarily in that order. Collecting the hits in that order is known as a "natural cycle".
For the day he finished up 4-4 with 6 runs batted in and 4 runs scored and helped his Quakers knock off the Houston Bayou Rats 17-4 at Myers Field.
In the SION postgame press conference he said, "I didn't even know I had hit for the cycle until the reporters told me after the game."
J. Horace walked in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off J. York in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
Thus far this year Horace is batting .316 with 16 home runs, 56 RBIs and 67 runs scored. | | Tuesday, June 20th, 2017: Injury Forces Miguel Bustamante Out Miguel Bustamante had to leave the Quakers game against San Diego after suffering a dislocated finger while making a defensive play. In the current season, Bustamante has put up a .289 batting average with 56 hits, 6 home runs, 38 RBIs and scored 44 times. | | Wednesday, May 24th, 2017: Bad News for Philadelphia, Miguel Bustamante Injured "It was kinda freaky. Hopefully, I'll be back in the lineup soon," said a dejected Miguel Bustamante after injuring himself in a game against Cleveland. The Philadelphia manager told SION reporters, "He will miss up to 1-2 weeks with a concussion." The Quakers will have to decide over the next day or two whether the center fielder will go on the disabled list.
This year Bustamante is hitting .293 with 6 home runs. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 44-44, .500 PCT | | Position in Division | 4th, 16.5 GB | | Record at home | 18-22, .450 PCT | | Record on the road | 26-22, .542 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 3-7, .300 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 10-12, .455 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 21-15, .583 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 23-29, .442 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in April | 16-9, .640 PCT | | Record in May | 13-15, .464 PCT | | Record in June | 10-16, .385 PCT | | Record in July | 5-4, .556 PCT |
