 | Baton Rouge Whitewashes Orchard Hills, Whitman Winner Sunday, July 17th, 2033 The Orchard Hills Stealth manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Baton Rouge Blackened Voodoo. The Stealth were overpowered by Baton Rouge starter George Whitman, who hurled his club to victory, 7-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Nate Ruhl said. Over 9 innings, Whitman blanked Orchard Hills on 4 hits with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Whitman said. "I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one." This year Whitman has earned no saves, worked 91.1 innings, fanned 108 hitters and recorded a 1.97 ERA. He has also put up a 10-1 won-lost mark. |   |
