| SL2 Selects Top Manager, Riverboats Belliard Wins Thursday, September 1st, 2033 Des Moines manager Ron Belliard caused quite a stir when he came to town. Noted for his feisty, no-nonsense attitude, Belliard threw his all into the 2033 campaign, winning over critics and fans as he went. He also won a few ballgames, running up a 75-45 record, which was good enough to take the second place spot in the Sub League 2 standings.
"These guys are grown men. They don't need psychobabble, they need to win ballgames," Belliard snapped at his first press conference. While his approach was controversial, even for Des Moines, it netted the 58-year-old the Sub League 2 Manager of the Year trophy.
